Archive collection with the Print Archivists
Since launching Flock it has always been an ambition of ours to launch an Archive collection that would sit happily alongside the work of our freshest graduate design talent and demonstrate how timeless pattern can be.
A wonderfully serendipitous meeting with Alice from the Print Archivists lead to some very inspiring and dreamy hours delving through their incredibly extensive archive collection of textile designs to settle on the perfect patterns to slot into the Flock collection .
Working closely with Alice and Claudia from Print Archivists we have managed to rework these gorgeous designs, that were originally hand painted tiny patterns for waistcoating or dresses from as early as the 1840’s, and create fully repeating scaled patterns for interiors.
I love how the patterns could be from any era, they refuse to be classified and have a fresh yet familiar feel, making a statement for any interior.
At ICFF, New York in May 2018 we launched our first Archive collection in collaboration with the Print Archivists, the collection comprises 20 fabric options and 10 wallpapers based on the gorgeous 1840’s designs Alice, Claudia and I discovered together. Printed to order in Lancashire, custom options available.
